6th International Forest Owners’ Congress

The IFFA Board will arrange the 6th International Forest Owners’ Congress together with the IFFA Annual Meeting in Canberra, Australia, 28 - 29 October 2008.

  • The Congress will be arranged in partnership with the Australian Forest Growers (AFG) and coincide with the PEFC General Assembly 31 October. The Congress will be at the Pavillion on Northbourne, 242 Northbourne Avenue, Dickson ACT 2602, Canberra. There will be a targeted forest excursion Tuesday 28 October starting at 08h30 and ending in the afternoon. Tuesday evening there will be a reception and dinner at 19h00 at the Courgette Restaurant, 54 Marcus Clarke Street in Canberra. The 6th International Forest Owners’ Congress starts with registration at 08h30 Wednesday 29. October 2008. The Congress ends at 16h00 and will be followed by the IFFA Annual Meeting 2008. The main themes of the Congress are making forest owners more visible and the climate impact on forest owners. Representatives from the Global Alliance of Community Forestry will be invited to the Congress.

    Committed to international communication

    IFFA is committed to the development and implementation of international communication strategies.

    This was the main message when IFFA chair Peter deMarsh addressed the United Nations Forum on forests. The 13th session of the forum was held in New York 7 to 11 May 2018.

    The conference “Halt deforestation and increase forest area” was held in Rome 20-22 February 2018

    The conference was a joint initiative between FAO and the Collaborative Partnership of Forests.
