G3 report from Durban

Lennart Ackzell from IFFA has made a picture report from the Durban climate conference.

    In the report Lennart writes that only marginal progress was made during the conference. G3, however, used all opportunities to present locally controlled forestry. The G3 participants also found time for internal discussions as well as follow up collaboration with the Growing Forest Partnership organizations and PEFC.

    Few forest discussions at UNFCCC COP 23 in Bonn

    At the COP 23 very little of substance on forests was discussed at the main negotiations. The task of implementing the Paris Accord become an administrative debate on the REDD instrument. The issue was whether a special institutional arrangement was needed within the convention or not. No consensus was established.
