FAO will organise a conference on sustainable Forestry and Climate change in Rome 17-18 October 2017

  • The theme will be: "sustainable Wood for a sustainable world" and the key messages are: sustainable forest products to haltering deforestation, for mitigation climate change and store carbon, as well as improving livelihoods, and promoting for more sustainable consumption.

    The conference will be hosted by the FAO department of Climate, biodiversity, land and water headed by René Castro. Approximately 200 participants from governmental and private sector, including small and medium enterprises, international organizations, relevant research organizations and civil Society are expected to join the conference.

    The conference was a joint initiative between FAO and the Collaborative Partnership of Forests.
